The great & free typography font Goudy Bookletter 1911 is made by Barry Schwartz and based on Frederic Goudy’s Kennerley Oldstyle.

A few words on why I think Kennerley Oldstyle is beautiful: In making this font, I discovered that Kennerley fits together tightly and evenly with almost no kerning. Thus the following words from Monotype specimen books are just: “[W]hen composed into words the characters appear to lock into one another with a closeness common in early types, but not so often seen in later-day creations.” These are letters that take command of the space around them; notice, for instance, the bowed shapes of the v and w.

The free font Nevis is a strong, angular typeface and ideal for headings. It features 96 of the most commonly used glyphs (characters).

League Gothic is a revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. The company went bankrupt in 1993. And since the original typeface was created before 1923, the typeface is in the public domain.

Diego Quintana is the creator of the Hetilica Bold free font. Inspired by alcohol selling shops in the province of Cartagena, Chile.

Hetilica Bold is a typeface developed as a final project for my 2009 workshop class in college.

It is based on the hand-written license signs used across some of the alcohol selling shops in the province of Cartagena, Chile; a small beach-side town of small population.

After a trip to the area, several pictures were taken to decide the fonts to develop based on just a few glyphs found.

Ulteriorly, we were asked to develop a full typography, type catalogue, specimen, website and several pieces of type-oriented memorabilia.

Hetilica Bold is now completely available to you for free in TrueType format.
